Use the contraptions to fling and sling your ball into the goal. When the ball is near a contraption, click and hold to latch on to it. Then release to fly. You'll preserve your speed whenever you latch onto a block, so try to grab on while your ball is moving quickly! Keep your eye out for secret exits.

Controls

The controls for Fling Shot are simple. Use blocks to fling and sling the ball into the goal. When the ball gets close to a block click and hold your mouse to grab onto it. Time up your release to fling the ball towards the goal. Use speed and momentum to your advantage by grabbing on to the ball while it is moving quickly. If you find yourself stuck, hit the R key to reset the level.

Now that you understand the game and know the controls, let’s go over some tips and tricks that can benefit you as you start going through the levels.

Know Your Blocks

There are a variety of different blocks in Fling Shot. In the beginning you will only get to use the basic block, but as you pass through the levels you will unlock different kinds of blocks. Each of these blocks has its own special ability. One block allows you to fling the ball forward like a slingshot. Another lets you stop the ball in midair, this can be handy when you need to make a sudden change of direction. There is even a block that allows you to teleport! You will need to master each special ability if you want to beat all the levels.

Timing is Key

Being able to time when you grab and release the ball is a huge factor in Fling Shot. Try to keep the ball’s natural momentum on your side. If a ball is rolling fast, try to time your grab so the ball never loses its momentum. This will guarantee that you are able to get over any obstacles that might stand in your way. If you mess up the timing, you might find yourself stuck and having to restart.

Be Quick

In order to beat some levels in Fling Shot, you will need to be able to work quickly. Being able to click from one block to another without missing a beat will help you a lot. It might be helpful to use a desktop mouse if you have one. Don’t worry too much about it though, with a little practice you can pass all levels regardless of the mouse you use.

Know Your Ranges

You will notice that each block has a large circle surrounding it. This circle is the area where you can grab the ball. If the ball is outside of this circle, it is out of your range and you will not be able to grab it. Some blocks have bigger ranges while others are smaller. Pay attention to the ranges so you know where the ball needs to be for you to grab it. The circle also helps you figure out the best place to grab the ball. The location where you grab the ball in the circle will have a big impact on your speed, momentum, and distance.
