Fireboy and Watergirl
Fireboy and Watergirl is one of the classic game series here at Coolmath. Not only is it one of the most popular games, but it is one of the most unique game series. This is because it is made to be played either with friends or alone. Watergirl is controlled with the A, W, and D keys, while Fireboy is controlled using the up, left, and right arrow keys.
With twice as many characters to control, this means that twice as many people can play at once, so there is no more fighting over taking turns amongst two friends. How often have you been tired of taking turns playing Run 3 against your friend?
The objective of all of the Fireboy and Watergirl games is to make it to the end of each level, and ultimately make your way out of the dangerous temple. It is a very classic version of platform games. However, the amount of clever thinking that is required to get through each level is one of the reasons why Fireboy and Watergirl is so iconic. Players don’t simply need quick reactions and good timing to jump their way through the level, they also need teamwork and a creative mind. No matter which Fireboy and Watergirl game you play, this remains true throughout.
How long will it take me to beat Fireboy and Watergirl?
That’s a good question! We certainly don’t recommend trying to beat all 6 of them in one day. Each Fireboy and Watergirl game has roughly 30-40 levels, so seasoned veterans of the game may be able to beat them in under an hour. However, for those who are new to the series, it may take several hours just to make it through one game.
Should I go in order when trying to beat the Fireboy and Watergirl series?
While a lot of people prefer to start with the first game, Fireboy and Watergirl in the Forest Temple, in our opinion it really doesn’t matter. The difficulty is about equal for all of the games, and the controls are equally as easy to learn in any of the games. It’s really up to preference. Our philosophy is that if there is a certain game from the series that calls to you, then you should start with that one and work your way from there.
What are some other games like Fireboy and Watergirl?
While Fireboy and Watergirl is a pretty unique platformer game series, there are a few games that are similar enough and still plenty of fun. A few games that we recommend you play after beating all of these games include Big Tower Tiny Square, Bloxcalibur, and Black and White. Black and White is probably the most similar to the Fireboy and Watergirl series, as it is also a co-op game that requires teamwork to win. To read more about it, you can check out our blog on it here.
With that being said, it’s time to get out there and start playing some Fireboy and Watergirl! Maybe eventually you’ll even make your way through all 6 games.
