Tap the Arrow Buttons to rotate your ship. Tap the "Thrust" button to move the ship forward. Tap the "Shoot" button to fire your blasters. Your new ship has a handy escape feature: you can teleport to a random position by tapping the "Hyper Space" button.
Make sure you don't run into any asteroids and try to get the highest score possible. Shoot down the orange UFO to earn extra points. The smaller asteroids that you destroy, the more points you will earn. Be careful though, these small asteroids move quickly, which makes them very easy to run into.
You only get so many lives in Atari Asteroids, so make them count. Try and avoid asteroids as best as you can, especially if they are large asteroids. When large asteroids are shot down with lasers, they will explode into tinier asteroids. While this may seem like a good thing, they can launch right into you and take away one of your lives if you aren’t careful.
One of the biggest tips that we have for Atari Asteroids is to be on the move as much as you can while staying controlled. If you are trying to remain stationary and shoot down every single asteroid and alien that comes your way, you’re going to get blown up eventually. Atari Asteroids is as much about dodging asteroids as it is about blowing them up. Moving with agility is one of the most important traits of this game.
If you are really in a pinch, consider using the hyperspace button. This will teleport you to a random location on the map. This is a real risk though because it can put you right next to an incoming asteroid! That is why it is only recommended during emergency situations. Don’t just do it for no reason whatsoever.
