Introducing Financial Literacy Games

At Coolmath Games, we’ve always believed games can do more than just entertain. They can help players build skills, solve problems, and explore new ideas in ways that actually stick.

That’s why we’re excited to announce our new Financial Literacy Games Initiative: a growing collection of educational games designed to help students learn real-world money skills like budgeting, investing, borrowing, filing taxes, and consumer savvy through play.

We’re launching with 6 original games, with more coming this summer and later this year!

Built for Today’s Financial Literacy Classrooms

Financial literacy education is spreading quickly across the United States. As of 2026, 37 states require schools to offer a financial literacy class, and 26 states require high school students to take a personal finance or financial literacy course to graduate1. That number continues to grow every year.

Our goal is to help teachers, students, and parents access engaging, classroom-friendly financial literacy games that are actually fun to play.

To help make that possible, our games are aligned with financial literacy standards from:

  • All 50 U.S. states
  • The Jump$tart Coalition and the Council for Economic Education (CEE)
  • The National Financial Educators Council (NFEC)

Each game even includes a dropdown menu where you can view the exact standards connected to your state.

And because these games are designed to be incorporated into instruction time, these experiences are presented in an enlarged window, completely ad-free: no display ads, no video ads, no interruptions.

Lesson Plans, Worksheets, and Google Classroom Support

We’re also building a growing library of classroom resources to go alongside the games, including lesson plans and worksheets for each game. Our lesson plans include activities and discussions built around each game and are designed to take 1-2 days to complete.

Plus, we’ve integrated with Google Classroom to make it easier for teachers to assign games and share materials with students.

Calling All Teachers

We’re currently looking for educators to help us create even more lesson plans and classroom resources for these games.

If you’re a teacher interested in contributing materials for other educators to use, we’d love to hear from you. Learn more and apply here.

We Want Your Feedback

Our financial literacy initiative is just getting started, and we’d love your input.

If you use one of our games or lesson plans in a classroom, after-school program, homeschool setting, or study group, tell us how it went! Your feedback will help us improve existing games and shape future ones.

We’re excited to keep expanding this collection, and we hope these games help make financial literacy a little more engaging, approachable, and fun for students everywhere.
