Before you hit the road for this month-long journey, you'd better make a weekly budget.

Kimber's budget is a plan for allocating her income. It usually includes fixed and variable expenses. 

Fixed expenses can't easily be changed, like her rent, phone plan, and auto insurance. Rent is a good example - it's considered a fixed expense because it will only change if Kimber's landlord adjusts it. 

Variable expenses are expenses she can easily adjust based on her behavior. For example, she can set a lower food budget if she plans to be thriftier with her meals.

Next, Kimber's an influencer, so she's saving up for a better camera. You'll have to choose which camera to save up for. This is Kimber's short-term savings goal.  

As you get further along in your journey, you'll have to make decisions that will determine whether or not you stay on budget. 

If you go over budget, you'll eat into your savings, and you may not be able to get your dream camera. If you go WAY over budget, your favorite uncle may help you with a loan.
