In Crossclimb you will build a ladder of words in three phases. To guess a word, type on your keyboard to spell the word. If you're stuck trying to solve a word, you can use your mouse or the UP and DOWN arrow keys to select a different word. If you're REALLY stuck, click the Hint button to reveal the first letter of the word, or the Reveal row button to reveal the whole word.
In the first phase of the puzzle you will need to find five words using five clues, one clue for each word. The clue will appear at the bottom of your screen.
In the second phase of the puzzle you'll need to rearrange the words so that they form a ladder, where only ONE letter changes from one word to the next. Move words up or down by clicking and dragging them using the = symbols to the left and right of the word.
In the third and final phase you'll need to solve two different words, one at the top of the puzzle, and the other at the bottom, using a single clue. Like in phase 2, each word will only have one letter different from the word next to it. These two words usually relate in some way. They could be two parts of a compound word, synonyms, opposites, or just rhyme! Keep in mind, the first word of the hint might appear at the bottom of your puzzle, depending on how you arranged your words in phase 2.
