Backing Up Your Papa's Progress

The Papa's Game Series has some of the most popular games here at Coolmath. From Papa's Freezeria, to Pizzeria, to even Cupcakeria, tons of users have played at least one game from this historic franchise. However, one problem that has plagued users is the inability to back up their progress and load it onto a different computer.

In this quick guide, we will teach you how to back up your papa's progress and transfer it to another browser if you wish.

It is important to clarify that Coolmath will automatically save your Papa's progress to your browser's local storage. However, the progress is not stored in your user profile, so you can't transfer your progress from one computer to another unless you back up your game.

If you want to back up your Papa's Game, or transfer it to another browser, you can do that by following these steps:

  1. Go to the game's webpage
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+I to open "Developer Tools" (On Mac press Command+Shift+I)
  3. Click the Application Tab
  4. Expand "Local Storage" in the left menu, and then click www.coolmathgames.com
  5. Type any part of the name of the papas game you are playing into the filter (for example, if you are playing Papa's Cupcakeria, you can type in cupcakeria)
  6. Right click on the value, press "Edit Value" and select the entire VALUE  and copy it, then save that text in a text editor (notepad, google docs, etc.) or send it to yourself in an email. Don't lose it!

Papa's Games Save Files

If there isn't already a save game file on the new browser or computer, you will need to start a game to create a save file. Then you can follow steps 1-5 and paste the old value into the "value" section. Once you overwrite the value, you won't see your new game right away. You need to refresh the page, and then you will see it in the game menu.

You should backup your save file whenever you finish playing, just to be safe!
