About Platformer Games

Platformer games have a long line in gaming history. From the first games, such as Donkey Kong and Super Mario World, to the newer games like oVo and Black and White, the goal has remained the same – get to the end of the level. This style has remained popular for good reason, they’re just really really fun to play. Running, jumping, dodging, and ducking are all the standards in platformer games, which almost always makes for some fun and fast-paced gameplay. What defines a platformer game?

A platformer game is a game where players must control a character who is running, jumping, or flying through the map. Typically, the goal is to get from one side to the other and reach the exit. This can be any kind of exit, like a door or a portal. Oftentimes there will be enemies and traps that try and obstruct your character from getting to the end, so you must use strategy and planning in order to succeed.
