Learn to Fly 2 – A Comprehensive Breakdown

Learn to Fly 2 is an exciting sequel that came out just 2 years after the original penguin launching game, Learn to Fly. In this sequel, you are trying to give your penguin upgrades that will launch them further through the map. The ultimate goal is that your penguin goes so far that it breaks through the iceberg at the end.

For the sake of clarity, we’re going to be focusing on the story mode of Learn to Fly 2. While the classic and arcade modes are also super fun, the story mode is the most commonly played setting.

How to Play Learn to Fly 2

Learn to Fly 2 has relatively simple controls. Once your penguin has launched off of the ramp at the beginning of the flight, use the arrow keys to change their flight angle.

The left arrow will tilt the penguin up and away from the ground. This will make them go higher up, but they will lose speed in the process. The right arrow will tilt your penguin toward the ground, but they will also gain speed in the process. It is up to you to decide how to balance your flight angle for maximum distance.

Learn to Fly 2 Strategies

There are probably hundreds of different small tips that people will tell you when you are first learning how to play Learn to Fly 2. Whether it’s about upgrades, launch angles, or which game mode to start with. However, we think it’s best just to give some general tips and let you choose the route that you want to go down. Part of the fun of Learn to Fly 2 is using your creativity to succeed.

Disperse your upgrades

While it may be tempting to just focus on one aspect of your gear, it is important to get a good distribution of upgrades. For example, having a really powerful rocket doesn’t mean much if you have a terrible glider. Instead, find a balance where everything is on roughly the same level.

Spend early and often

One key mistake that beginners make is saving up money for several rounds to get a really expensive item. Instead, use your funds every 2 or 3 rounds on a new upgrade that will help you out. These small upgrades will end up helping you go faster and further than you did before, which will speed up the coin-gaining process. You’ve got to spend tokens to make tokens. A good rule of thumb is that if you have to save up for more than 5 rounds to afford the item, you can't afford the item.

Collect battle points

One interesting new feature of Learn to Fly 2 is the Battle Points system. This is a separate currency that you can use to help your penguin out. Instead of using battle points on gear like regular coins, battle points go toward more general attributes. This includes aspects such as decreased air resistance, better boosts, and more fuel efficiency.

These battle points are usually earned through acquiring medals. There are all sorts of medals that you can earn, such as traveling a certain amount of distance, skipping off the water a certain amount of times, or even flying backward for a while. However, you can also get some free battle points by clicking on a few secret spots, such as the penguin's nose on the home screen.

Unlock Omega items

One of the best resources that you can unlock with battle points is the Omega book. This will give you access to omega items, which are the most powerful items in the game. This includes boosters, gliders, and sleds. While these items are expensive to unlock, they are well worth it. If you want to take your game to the next level, then the Omega book is crucial.

Now that you know some helpful tips and tricks on how to play Learn to Fly 2, go and test them out for yourselves! Experiment with the many different gliders, boosters, and sleights to see which combinations work best for you.
